A calzone is a folded pizza, typically filled with tomato sauce and cheese. But my version uses fresh sliced tomatoes instead of sauce for a lighter, fresher flavor.
Ingredients:
- 1 pound pizza dough
- 2 ripe tomatoes, thinly sliced
- 8 ounces shredded mozzarella cheese
- 1/4 cup grated Parmesan cheese
- 1 tablespoon olive oil
- Salt and pepper, to taste
- Optional: fresh basil or oregano, for garnish
