Bark Acorn Stew

This hearty cowboy dish is perfect for a chilly evening by the campfire. The bark acorns add a nutty flavor and satisfying crunch to the stew.

1. Begin by cracking the bark acorns open, removing any shells or debris. Soak them in water overnight to remove any tannins and bitterness.
2. Heat up a cast iron pot over medium heat, add vegetable oil, and then sauté the onions and garlic until translucent.
3. Add the beef to the pot and season with salt and pepper. Cook until the beef is browned on all sides.
4. Pour in 4 cups of water and bring to a boil.
