Classic Beef Stew

This classic beef stew is the ultimate comfort food. It is warm, hearty, and delicious, perfect for a comforting dinner.

1. Cut the beef into small cubes and season with salt and pepper.
2. In a large pot over medium-high heat, brown the beef until it is brown on all sides. Remove from the pot and set aside.
3. Peel and chop the onion and garlic finely, then add to the pot, cooking until the onion is soft and translucent.
4. Add the tomato paste and cook for 1-2 minutes, stirring constantly.
5. Add the beef broth, Worcestershire sauce, thyme, bay leaves, salt, and pepper to the pot.
6. Add the beef and bring to a boil.
7. Reduce the heat to medium-low, cover and simmer for about 1 hour.
8. Peel and chop the potatoes and carrots into bite-sized pieces and add to the pot.
9. Cover again and simmer for another 30 minutes until the vegetables are tender.
