potatoes
butter
milk
salt
black pepper
Classic Mashed Potatoes
Peel and chop 2 pounds of potatoes into small even pieces.
Rinse them in cold water and add them to a pot. Fill the pot with cold water until the potatoes are just covered.
Bring the water to a boil over high heat and reduce to a simmer.
Cook for 15-20 minutes or until a fork can easily pierce through the potatoes.
Preheat milk and butter in a separate pan.
Drain the potatoes and add them back to the pot.
Add salt and pepper to the potatoes.
Start mashing and stir in hot milk and butter.
Add more salt and pepper to taste.
Serve hot and enjoy creamy and fluffy mashed potatoes.
