Royal Bread Pudding

My loyal subjects, fear not for I shall provide a dish fit for a King, or Queen as it were. In times of scarcity, one must make do with what they have at hand. Fear not for the ingredients of this dish may be modest, but the flavor is truly divine.

1. Preheat the oven to 350°F (175 °C).
2. In a saucepan over medium heat, bring the 2 cups of water to a simmer.
3. Place the 8 slices of stale bread in a large mixing bowl and pour the simmering water on top.
4. Let the bread soak for 10 minutes or until it is thoroughly moistened.
5. Once the bread has soaked up the water, transfer it to a greased baking dish.
6. Bake the bread at 350°F for 40-45 minutes until the edges are crispy and the center is firm.
7. Allow the bread pudding to cool for 15 minutes before serving.
